In the past, we produced exhaust manifolds by gray cast iron, but in the recent years, we have produced them by ductile iron, considering the higher tensile strength and quality.

The exhaust manifolds rough should have no dirt iron, no air holes, and no through-hole defects.If the surface of the exhaust manifold has extra material,we call it Metallic Projection in the form of fins.Our foundry must polish these parts and do the shot blasting again.
The sand holes and shrinkage are not allowed on the exhaust manifold surface,our foundry will communicate with customer in advance once the exhaust manifold has these issues,most customers will agree to use welding to repair these sand holes.Of course,doesn't include critical surfaces.
We also must clean the burrs on the edge of the machining surface.
In order to avoid rusting of the exhaust manifold during sea transportation,our foundry has strict packaging steps and procedures. After machining,our foundry will use anti-rust oil to protect the finished manifolds,and then separately pack them in plastic bags.
Finally, we will pack the exhaust manifolds into a non fumigated wooden box with a moisture-proof plastic bag.
