Ductile iron in China
Ductile iron is a cast iron in which graphite exists in a spherical form,is also called nodular cast iron,due to the comprehensive performance is close to steel,Ductile iron is widely used in Mechanical crankshaft, camshaft, connecting shaft, connecting rod, gear, clutch plate, hydraulic cylinder and other parts.
The chemical composition of nodular cast iron is usually as follows:
C 3.0～4.0% and Si 1.8～3.2%
Because of the difference in strength , wear resistance and other mechanical properties,ductile iron is developed in many different grades,for example QT400,QT450,QT500 and QT 600 etc.
However,when actually producing nodular cast iron parts,some factories cannot effectively control casting defects such as shrinkage shrinkage and porosity,if your supplier has these problem,please contact to us,
